FALL Run Club 2018 for JRC & APRC
REGISTRATION OPENS on August 27th at 6AM – Online ONLY!
WHAT IS RUN CLUB?
It is a bi-weekly, after school fitness program available to students in K-5. Run Club is
categorized into two teams and we operate a Fall and Spring Season. Junior Run Club (JRC) is
our Kindergartener boys and girls. Ashford Park Run Club (APRC) is made up of our 1st – 5th
boys and girls. APRC is operated by parent and teacher volunteers to teach general wellness,
good nutrition and fitness education plus the basics of running. Equally important APRC
promotes volunteering within the community by participating in numerous Character in Action
events throughout each season.
WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THE PROGRAM?
We want student athletes that are interested in participating and look forward to being active!
On the first day, we will ask your child if they are excited about Run Club, or if their parents
signed them up and they don’t want to be here or if they just aren’t sure yet. The idea behind the
question is to ensure that the kids that were afforded the opportunity to participate are there and
REALLY willing to be a part of the team. This is an after school participation based program NOT after school childcare.
WHAT CAN MY CHILD EXPECT ON THE FIRST DAY?
We will conduct evaluations for all student athletes. We would ask them to be able to do 10 sit-
ups, 10 push-ups and run continuously for 1 mile (APRC) and 1 lap for (JRC). More than
anything, we want to see 110% effort!
